Brian and Marcos returned to meet Mark Masiano the engineer and inspect the new truss members. New 2×6 pine was screwed into the old members 6 inches on center with #15 heavy duty roofing screws. Care was taken to have a minimum over lap of 2 feet on to good wood. The damage was along the entire perimeter edge of the roof.
Apparently it rained last night and the roofs slope was no sufficient to run the water off the roof deck and it leaked to the patio below. Mr. Massey purchased some tarps at Home Depot and Brian spread across the roof to prevent the roof from leaking again.
We will return to hot mop roofing asphalt when the engineer finished the report and we are authorized to proceed by the Building Department.
